Learning Japanese Minds and Hospitality in English

Hizaka:Was it the first time for you two to experience Japanese tea ceremony?
Ryo:Yes. I was born in Canada and grew up in Hong Kong so it was very refreshing experience for me. In the procedure of Japanese tea ceremony, there are so many rules and protocols which have meanings behind.
Sato:It was refreshing for me as well. Learning Japanese culture in English is very valuable because we can look into Japan from different perspectives. After graduation, I’m going to start working as a cabin crew in an airline, this experience would be helpful to communicate with overseas customers.
Hizaka:The most important part of this class is not “Learning English” but “Learning IN English”. Japanese students and students from all over the world sit and learn together in the class room, they might have sense of cross-cultural communication.
Sato:That’s true. I got practical skills, knowledge and way of thinking to work together with foreigners through many opportunities of discussing or sharing our ideas in this class.
Ryo:This class stands out for its diversity. I realized the different way of thinking between Japan and other regions. Through this experience, now I’m motivated to work at global company such as airline.
Hizaka:Aspirational students communicate and stimulate each other in this class, and they brush up their skills. I hope you two to act globally in the future with your language skills, knowledge, and communication skills which you gained in this class.
